Here is a solution that will allow the use of the "mouseOver" function in both NetScape & MS Explorer. (Version 3+). There is a very slight delay on load but it appears to work fine once initiated.
This is an ActiveX control that provides a substitute for JavaScript 1.1's AREA event handlers. It defines a transparent cursor-sensitive area that functions anywhere on an HTML Layout. And, it requires, in this instance, "hotspot.alx" to be present. Hopefully MicroSoft will provide more documentation on ActiveX, as it appears that they have an aversion to Java at the time of this writing.Here is a mini FAQ on the parameters, etc. for this application, so designers may use it with ease.
